When I saw 8' Black Hole Magic Eye conventional rod, I thought it could be an excellent bottom
I tested the rod for grouper on the Dry Tortugas trip out of Key West.
Today, I tested the rod for blackfish on the Frances Fleet, RI. As I expected, the light tip enabled me to detect even slight touch by blackfish and the stout backbone in the middle of the rod enabled to lift blackfish quickly when hooked. I just loved the slow action of the rod while fighting.
Next test of the rod will be for deep drop for golden tile out of Cape May on Monday.
The rod tip might be a little light to fish 500 plus ft with heavy jig/sinker, but it could detect any nibble.
