Jupps, it is medium weight casting rod designed for PE4-5 fishing.  What is your intended use? It would be OK for Tuna/Kingfish stickbait work but very unsuitable for GTs.

A friend of mine uses it for Tuna casting. It is quite a soft, forgiving rod.

Mark , my intended usage would be for popping gts and other surface fish . Looks like I can't use this rod with that purpose . I be using it for southeast Asian fishing where the gts are of coz of juvenile sizes but planning for an Australia holiday where I would like to fight the monster.
Any suggestion rods??? Other than smith, carpenter???
I appreciate your kind reply .

Southeast Asia has plenty of huge GTs Jupps - check my profile pic for example.

If you are looking at Hots, then the 77XH would suit most GT fishing applications.  The terms XX HH etc with Hots are different in meaning to most rod manufacturers. The 77XH for example is not that heavy actioned a  rod in my view - equivalent to say a Carpenter MH or perhaps H.

In that mid-range price bracket you could do a lot worse than Kil's own Cape Cod Popping special (graphite version). A very capable rod.
