Replacing my 20-year old reels, and I havaen't seen any recent comparisons of these two (or three.) We fish La. coastal saltwater ... specks, reds and occasional rigs.

No comparison, the Stradic FJ is a superior product in every way. More bearings (leads to superior cranking power under load and less wear on gears etc), better line lay and casting, higher quality gears, bearings in the line roller etc etc. Every feature compared side by side the Stradic FJ is superior from the spool to every internal part. It's the best reel at it's price point bar none.

I agree with John, Silky smooth reels and I have both Slammers and Spinfishers from Penn and all my Stradics cast further and have more powerful drags.
