Hi Everyone,

Anyone care to share info on the race point 250 rod?
Not much info can be found on yahoo or google.
From SaltyWater tackle, this rod is meant to be a Swimbait rod.
But can I pop with this rod? Eg using CraftBait GT3 150g?

http://www.saltywate...p?id_product=29

Thanks in advance

I haven't touched Race Point 250, but the rod should be good because Sami G who developed the rods is a fisherman who have caught lots of GT and tuna with popping rods.
I don't see any problem to cast 150g popper with the rod.

Hello Euro, IMO you are fine using a 150g Popper with the Race Point 250. It is rated to up to 180g, if you want to be certain give Sami or Paul a call, they would be happy to speak with you about the rod and any other fishing advice you may need.

Thanks Kilsong & Tunabuff.
Will email Sami regarding the rod.
Actually order a blank from Saltywater, can't really call him b'cos I'm from S'pore.

You're welcome euoro. Let me know what Sami or Paul say about the rod. If you can't get in touch with the shop by e-mail let me know I'll call or pass by the shop and tell them to e-mail you the info.

Hi

I have a 250 and I use it for GT's in Oman. I use various ASWB's, the 150 Wahoo / Ulua's and even the 200 Ulua's without any hassles. Great rod and super strong!
