If I was going on Memorial day 2day out of nj i would reconsider and join it.

I'll gladly provide all the trashfish for bait for this trip :)

I was just talking to Ralph about last yrs trip and how I was in the middle of a nice wreckfish bite and finally I got bit!!.. and I thought it was a good one..

Only to reel in a 10lb silver eel...

I'm still pissed :o

Deep water fishing has been very good and this will be the first trip of the year that has the time to go to places not hit so far :thumbsu:

Good luck, Dave.

Here is a nice wreckfish on a jig on your charter last year.

Trip report.
We steamed 130 miles out but with the offshore storm (that was never in the forecast until late) We only got one day (Friday) to fish the deep. The day started off almost perfect with a light wind and I was able to jig with a 16oz jig but did not have any takers. I switched to bait and got fish instantly as everyone else was already into fish. conditions got worse and worse but the fishing was still good. after the day most had average 6 to 8 tiles from 8 to 20 lbs with a few bigger ones to 30 landed. I had 11 tiles. We then fished a rock ledge and Wreckfish were waiting for us there. Drift was too fast for a jig so everyone stayed with bait and caught 2 to 5 Wreckfish to 20lbs each along with 4 Barrelfish to 25lbs. We also caught some decent Hake, Pollock, Cusk, one Codfish and there were 3 or 4 Doormat Fluke also landed. We then hightailed it out of the deep and the next morning we tried some Codfishing on some wrecks off Mass but that didn't work out and after trying a few wrecks we all decided to call it quits and go home early. We all got a very nice discount on another offshore adventure with the Viking fleet.
We tried everything we could but as they say you got not fight Mother Nature. Looking forward to my next offshore trip in June with Mark K's charter.
