3 Day Ultra Limited TnT Trip
Sept 8-Sept 11
Captain Steven Jr reports a FANTASTIC TnT trip! The first day was plagued with the remnants of Hurricane Katia, so bottom fishing was out of the question, and the trolling conditions were very tough, though we did land a couple of Albacore Tunas. That night we anchored up in some hot water, but it was a slow night. We released 3 short Swordfish and kept one good size one weighing it at 100lbs! The next day the weather turned beautiful, flat seas and no wind. We went to the Tilefish grounds and saw excellent fishing! Tilefish, Cod, Pollack, Wreckfish, Hake, Cusk and some other deep water species came up steadily! We caught Tilefish right up to 30lbs and we picked on the bottom fish for a couple of hours. The weather was just perfect for trolling, so around noon we went back to the troll and we were rewarded with an EXCELLENT bite of Yellowfin Tuna! Many times we had multiple hook-ups and landings. We put out our Green Stick too and it worked very well! It was a fun and exciting bite right up until sundown. We settled in for the night in that area and had good steady action on Yellowfin all night on both the bait and jigs!! All the Yellows were in the 30-50lbs class again and we had many excellent anglers limit out. All in all it was another excellent trip to the Canyons and a great showing for our Fall Tuna Season. Jack Aranbages from Staten Island, NY took the Tuna pool with a 60lbs Yellowfin. Adam Christiansen from East Brunswick, NJ took the tile pool with a 29lber and Mike DeSantis Jr of Staten Island, Ny took the Edible pool with his 100lbs Swordfish. Well done guys!! Captain Steven Jr and Captain Carl and mates Steve and Ray would like to thank all the guys who sailed this trip with us. It really was a great trip and we hope to see you all again soon. We do still have some spots open on some upcoming trips so give our office a call on 631 668 5700 to get some info and book your spot now!! Click HERE to check out all the pics of this trip!
