I have been using 9/0 to 10/0 Gami Octopus hooks while fishing strip baits. I am looking for something better as my hook up ratio sucks. They have a very small barb.
Doe's Owner make a hook that size? or any other advice?
Thanks

I suggest the Gammy Big River in 10/0 or better 12/0.

What boat have you been fishing?

That is all we use now. The hookup ratio seems to be better and we rarely loose a fish on the way up

I use the Gamakatsu 4x Circle hooks. The fish sometimes run off with the sinker and I just reel as fast as I can t tight to hook them. Other times you'll just come tight and you just have to lift the rod.

Sometimes I prefer setting the hook on them and will use 4x octopus up to 10/0, these are knockoffs, and dont bend. They're more like 5x cause they're thicker than Gama 4x.

Circle hook glow teaser, resembling rosefish. Not necessar but it helps hold scent when i spray it up.

Gami 4x 8/0. The leader is 150lb, all connections are crimped and glow squids are a must in my mind

I learned a thing or two using big cirlces for the halibut in Alaska. I might have to test run them on the tiles.

Feel the bite, let the fish take it or run, reel down then lift. Game on!!

Opps. My error, I was talking about the Voyager, not the Viking. :)
